Rue Christino Garcia Paris, France 2025–2025

Today, 3-5-7 Rue Cristino Garcia sits in a complex urban setting, the result of ongoing reorganisation on the outskirts of the city. Located between the park and the Boulevard Périphérique, is part of the Lamoricière complex, a vast monumental complex built in 1957 that forms the entrance to the Porte de Vincennes and is an example of post-war social housing policy. The first building in this large complex to be renovated, the project re-imagine this neglected apartment building as an example of high quality student accommodation.

Our intervention is twofold: re-organising the existing building while retaining much of the fabric and embodied energy in the existing concrete frame and stone facades; introducing a new lightweight timber structure to provide additional homes and give the building a new character and presence.
