Superurbanism Podcast
May 2024
In the latest episode of the Superurbanism podcast, Simon Henley talks to Tim Abrahams about buildings, history and London.
They discuss how making a building is primarily a social act for Henley Halebrown - a thread that runs through all of the practice's work, including Hackney New Primary School & 333 Kingsland Road, Thames Christian School & Battersea Chapel, and Chadwick Hall at the University of Roehampton.
Tim says: "Simon Henley is one of London architecture's unsung heroes. His practice Henley Halebrown wrings great buildings from unlikely sites across the city - Hackney New Primary School being a great example, but also their latest work, Thames Christian School... The work is robust and gritty, but soulful, legible and generous... But Simon is also a great advocate for the culture of architecture as a writer but in a host of other ways."
