Mark Swenarton originally trained and has since practised as an architectural historian, with a focus on twentieth-century housing. He is also an architectural critic and editor, co/editing the monthly review Architecture Today from 1989 to 2005 and chairing design review at CABE from 2010.In 2017, Mark published Cook's Camden: The Making of Modern Housing (the result of ten years of research), of which is the theme for this talk. The book examines how Camden Council created a new kind of street-based housing, offering lessons for today.
