An afternoon of talks drawing on the themes raised by Congregation, the Architecture Foundation's exhibition of recent religious architecture. Speakers included the philosopher Alain de Botton, Architects Simon Henley, Shahed Saleem, Rox Barr and Patrick Lynch, plus a number of the clients for the buildings featured in the exhibition.
To complete the one day festival, the afternoon’s talks were concluded by Alain de Botton in conversation with Simon Henley about the capacity of secular buildings to answer our need for ritual and ceremony, with reference to the Battersea Baptist Church & Thames Christian School exhibit.
