The masterplan for the southside builds on the success of the completed first phase, stitching together the two halves of the estate. It combines new residential buildings and refurbished housing with additional social infrastructure woven through the site. 219 new mixed tenure homes will be created in 5 buildings, with 174 refurbished homes, a new community centre, shops and workspace.
Refurbishment will provide each existing home with a new balcony and external amenity space. We aim to improve the living conditions for existing residents, enabling people to expand their living space outdoors. The ambition is to encourage the internal life of the flats into the public sphere, activating the streets and spaces within and around the estate.
