John Marshall

With a background in housing development, John has a particular interest in how people interact with the home and the potential of architecture to improve people’s lives.

Graduating from technical college, John went on to work with Linden Homes as an Architectural Assistant before moving onto studies at Oxford Brookes, The CASS at London Met and finally the University of Cambridge. Following periods at Mellbye Arkitekter in Oslo, Publica and Liddicoat & Goldhill, John joined Henley Halebrown in 2015.

Having worked on all project stages – from concept design through planning to construction – he recently delivered the refurbishment of De Beauvoir Block as project architect for The Benyon Estate. He is now leading the design and delivery of Hackney New Primary School and an affordable housing refurbishment for Land Securities in Westminster.

John is heavily engaged in wider conversations around the built environment. He is a visiting critic at a number of universities and co-coordinates our in-house Dialogues series of lectures featuring peers of the profession presenting and discussing projects.
